Y is for Yuck

The current challenge at Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers is:

We're supposed to use our ugliest, yuckiest craft supplies -- OR -- use a yucky theme. I CAN DO THIS!

I went to The Heaplet where I keep my remnants and selected a WTH WAS I THINKING remnant. It has glittery flowers. I mean, seriously, I must have been drunk.

Based on the piece of fugly paper, I next selected a sketch. This time it was the current Nacho Average Challenge sketch:

I figured my fugly paper could be the banner, then I'd add a sentiment. This is what came out:

I intensely dislike this paper, and now it's gone. Sweet.

Here's a close-up of the shimmery flowers:

Believe it or not, my photography is so bad, it makes this paper look worse than it really is. I didn't think that possible.

Anyway, there you have it. Thanks to SoSS for giving me an excuse to use and disappear this piece of paper. Got ugly paper? I think you should play along! :)

Thanks for stopping by!

Stuff I used: a remnant of fugly paper, Simon Says Stamp Apothecary Labels (no longer in the store), SU Basic Black card stock, and the following:

  3. The card looks great, even with that hideous paper. And it is hideous.

  4. I have to agree with you, that paper is pretty bad. But the card layout is lovely and the glittery flowers are somewhat disguised by the circle.

  6. How funny! beauty is in the eye of the beholder girly. I like the sketch you chose very much...I'm not big into glittery and floral, but it's not fugly really!!!

  8. That is some truly ugly paper! I love the Y is for Yuck! If the earth thaws out I'll have to play along because Yuck is fun! Unless Yuck is intestinal, then not so fun.

  10. Fugly...LOL...I am glad I am not the only one who uses that (is it a word??)
Glad we could enable you to have one less yucky piece of paper in your stash...having said that, I am quite keen on the finished product!

  11. I am glad that we have helped you reduce your heaplet. However I think you were drunk when you added this paper to the heaplet. This paper should have had an "unfortunate accident" after which it needed to be disposed of. Thanks for making a card with a cute sentiment for our Y is for Yuck challenge at SoSS!

  13. Um, not the nicest paper I've ever seen. :D Are you sure you bought it on purpose? Could it have been the reject from an otherwise fine paper pad? No? And yet. Here you went and turned it into a shockingly attractive card! Maybe you'll be back to the heaplet and join us again to reduce it more? In the meantime, thanks for joining the fun at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers!
